Makyla Whitt will undergo surgery on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Makyla has Gardner's Syndrome and will be having her colon Removed. Please check this websites for updates on her progress and to leave her and her family notes of encouragement!

       Life flight came in and put 2 IV lines in Makyla.  They have her in diapers because it just keeps flooding out her bottom.  Doctor wants her to drink a little water and see what happens.  It is just a waiting period right now to see what happens.

       Life flight people will be coming down to start an IV, they say they are the best!  They tried to get the NG tube down her 2 times and couldn't.  Doctor came up and said as long as she was passing stool from her bottom he will let her rest until morning but told them that he is gonna have to put it in.

       They have tried to put the GI down her and have gotten it half way down but she yanked it out and threw up another 500cc.

       Makyla is needing prayers!  Late this evening she began to vomit stool.  They took her to x-ray and found out that her small bowel is dilated.  She has to have a GI tube put in.  She also needs to have another IV put in as she has blown all her others.

       Makyla is doing better this morning.  They are taking the pain pump off today and putting her on Percocet.  She is still on oxygen and she is holding a lot of fluid.  As long as everything goes well today she should get to go home tomorrow.  She is going to be put on a soft diet to see how well she can tolerate food.

       Bloodwork has come back. Makyla's White count is High. The doctors said that somtimes after surgery it will be elevated so they will recheck it tonight.

       Temp has broke, however she is still in a lot of pain so they still hvae her on the pain pump. They have taken her foley out, her oxygen is still low so she is running on 2 liters.

Makyla's temp is still up, oxygen is still down and her heart rate is high.  The doctors are going to be doing bloodwork.  Please check back for results of the bloodwork.

       Makyla's Fever is at 101.  She is in some pain right now, but they are trying to give her medicine to keep the pain down.

       Makyla has developed a fever.  They spend the last half hour getting her up in the chair, but she made it and is sitting up eating a popsicle now.

       Makyla has now made it to her room and the family is able to be with her

       Doctor just came out and talked with the family.  Everything went as planned and he is happy with how well it went.  The family should be able to see her in 45 Minutes.

       Just got news that they are closing her up and will be talking with the family soon.

       Another page was sent that surgery is still continuing.

       Makyla has made it to the hospital and will start an hour round of antibiotics before going to surgery.  The surgery will last about 3 hours.  Please check back for updates!
